He is the most interesting man in the world, and he ate lunch at Danford's.

The most interesting man in the world stopped by what we think is the most interesting place in the world: Port Jefferson. Jonathan Goldsmith, the actor who plays a rich playboy adventurer in the popular and viral commercials for Dos Equis beer came to Danford's Hotel and Marina recently to have lunch at Wave.

As his character, Goldsmith does things so amazing that everyone in the world admires and respects him. Dos Equis uses this premise to show that when "The Most Interesting Man in the World" drinks, he choses their brand of beer.

"When in Rome, they do as he does," is just one of the over-the-top things that are said about him in the commercials. The quotes spread through popular culture and entire fan websites are dedicated to them.

"If he were to pat you on the back, you would list it on your resume," "He’s won trophies for his game face alone," and "Both sides of his pillow are cool" are some other quotes.

A Danford's spokesperson confirmed that Goldsmith did not drink any beer during lunch (though Danfords does carry Dos Equis) and they believe he came by car, but "they are not sure what kind of car he was driving or why he was in town."

The mayor of Port Jefferson tried to get the name of the village legally changed to "Port Most Interesting Man In The World Was Here And Had Lunch." Unfortunately, Port Washington beat them to it.

When he came for lunch, the ferry turned around in Port Jefferson Harbor to enjoy a nice view of him.
