As a member of the Catholic Health Services of Long Island, St. Charles Hospital is a non-profit acute care facility and a part of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. It's well regarded in the areas of Maternal/Child, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. While it is known for excellence in these three specialtie,s the hospital has a host of other services, including pediatrics, neonatology, general surgery, emergency medicine, general medical and a sleep disorders center. The 231-bed hospital has been serving the community for over 100 years, when in 1907 some of the Sisters of the Order of the Daughters of Wisdom took in dozens of disabled children in need of care.
