Are you worried that you might be at high risk for developing diabetes? St. Charles Hospital is offering a new free diabetes prevention program to help get your life back on track in just 16 weeks beginning today at 6 p.m. at 200 Belle Terre Road.

Voting is just around the corner and to help residents, the Port Jefferson Station-Terryville Civic Association is hosting a Meet The Candidates night at Comsewogue Library at 7 p.m. Go and see who you might be voting for in November.

John Spoltore is presenting a portrait and lighting digital photography seminar that will help you learn how to properly use your camera, what features are the best for the photo, and how to get them on your computer. The program is free and starts at 7 p.m. at the Port Jefferson Library.

Bulletin

The John F. Kennedy Middle School announced plans to for it’s next school musical, Willy Wonka Jr. The middle school will be hosting auditions Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 after school.

The latest jobs report, released in September, left people with mixed reviews. According to the report, the country only added 148,000 jobs far fewer then estimates. However, the unemployment rate did drop slightly from 7.3 to 7.2 percent.
