Mather Hospital has appointed Lorraine Farrell, FNP, RPAC of Port Jefferson as Assistant Vice President of Medical Affairs, reporting directly to Joan Faro, MD, Chief Medical Officer for Mather.
“During her 19 years at Mather Hospital, Lorraine has distinguished herself as a leader and in the past 10 years she has worked closely with the Chief Medical Officer on quality improvement initiatives, optimizing allied health professional practice, and introducing innovations that improve our processes,” said Mather President Kenneth Roberts.
As the Assistant Vice President of Medical Affairs, Ms. Farrell will continue to evaluate, develop and implement new quality initiatives.
Ms. Farrell was previously a Director in the office of the Chief Medical Officer and worked on a number of quality improvement initiatives. Most recently, she has helped on the selection and installation of electronic patient information systems that improve processes and directly impact the level and quality of patient care.
She is an active member of Mather’s Leadership Development Team and is responsible for the management of the Allied Health Professional staff, which includes physician assistants and nurse practitioners. She holds New York State certification as a Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant.
Ms. Farrell received a BS in biology from Fairfield University and a Master’s Degree in nursing from Pace University.
