Dr. Eric Sigler Joins Ophthalmic Consultants Of Long Island

Eric Sigler, MD has joined Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI) as an associate. He is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical diseases of the retina. Dr. Sigler is originally from Massapequa and now resides in West Islip. He will be working in OCLI’s Rockville Centre, Plainview and Mineola offices.

Before joining OCLI, Dr. Sigler completed a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Charles Retina Institute & Hamilton Eye Institute at the University of Tennessee Memphis Health Sciences Center, Department of Ophthalmology, Division of Retina & Vitreous. Prior to the fellowship, Dr. Sigler was in private practice in New York and Chief Resident of Ophthalmology at Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science.

Dr. Sigler graduated from State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He attended the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and completed his residency at Yale New Haven Hospital.

 

Dr. Sigler has received several distinguished awards and honors including the Physician Recognition Award from the American Medical Association and the Resident Research Award from the Yale Eye Center. Dr. Sigler is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, American Society of Retina Specialists, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and a founder of the Vitreoretinal Research Group. Dr. Sigler is also an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
