Marie Ankner, PhDc, RN, NEA-BC Named Assistant Vice President for Nursing Education at Mather Hospital

Marie Ankner, PhDc, RN, NEA-BC has been named Assistant Vice President for Nursing Education at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital. In her new role she will be a member of the Nurse Executive Council at Mather and will work closely with the clinical nurse specialists, educators, and managers.

She was an Assistant Vice President for Nursing for the NYC Health & Hospitals Corp., acting as Chief Nursing Leader for the multi-hospital system, and Director of Nursing at Montefiore Medical Center. Ankner also is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at LIU Brooklyn Campus and an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the College of New Rochelle.          

A resident of The Bronx, Ankner currently serves as a Director on the Board of Nurses House, which is the only national charitable foundation dedicated to helping nurses in need. She served as a Board Member, President and Past President of the New York Organization of Nurse Executives and President and Past President of the Greater New York Nassau Suffolk Organization of Nurse Executives. She is a member of the Coalition for the Advancement of Nursing Education and the Pace University Advisory Board College of Health Professionals.

She is currently a Doctoral Candidate (PhDc) at Adelphi University and received a Master of Science in Nursing with distinction in Administration/Education from Pace University. Ankner received a Bachelor of Science degree from Pace University and her RN Diploma from the Westchester School of Nursing.
