Port Jefferson Musician Hits a High Note

Annalisa Welinder, a seventh-grader at Port Jefferson Middle School, took first place in the Sound Symphony Orchestra’s annual solo competition on May 17 for her performance on violin.

With the win, Welinder now has the opportunity to be featured as a soloist with the orchestra during its 2014-2015 concert season. 

A panel of judges ranked Welinder based on overall performance and style.
