At last Monday's board of trustees business meeting, parking committee Chairman George Westbay proposed a village shuttle that would connect the different areas of Port Jefferson.
In particular, it would connect the Port Jefferson LIRR station to the village downtown making taking the train to Port Jefferson to either visit the village during the summer or catch the ferry to Bridgeport more appealing to travelers who might otherwise come to the village by car.
