Port Jefferson has always been a quaint little place to visit in the wintertime to shop and eat but the cold weather outdoor activities in town had been pretty lacking. That is until opened in .

Every November next to the the icemakers come out to magically construct the skating rink. People flock to The Rinx to enjoy time outdoors in the winter and skate in full view of Port Jefferson Harbor.

Dig the old skates out of the back of the closet and come down to Harborfront Park during one of the frequent public skating times all throughout the day. If you can’t find them, no worries, The Rinx has skate rental right inside the Village Center. Or if you’re a first time skater, the facility offers private and group lessons. They also have special times to accommodate private parties.
