"Bridging the Sound through Art" Exhibit Starts Thursday

Artists from Long Island and Bridgeport come together for showcase.

The Greater Port Jefferson-Northern Brookhaven Arts Council and the Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council have collaborated on a new exhibit that will showcase artists from each other's cites for almost a month. The exhibit will run from Nov. 7 through to the 23 and will feature over 31 artists and 63 pieces of work.

The Long Island artists will be shown at the Read's Art Building in Downtown Bridgeport, while Bridgeport artists will be on display at the Port Jefferson Village Center.

"With revitalization projects taking place in both areas, the focus on cultural arts is extremely important in the economic development of our communities," said John Diaz in a statement released by the organizations. "This exhibit is a wonderful way to collaborate with a fellow arts council in an exciting and innovative way."

Some artists to be featured from both Long Island and Connecticut include: Ross Barbera, Winifred Boyd, Frances Campani, Beth Capodanno, Kristin Costa, David Gearino, Liz Squillace, Herm Freeman, Louis J. Crescenti, MIA Lipstick, and Adger Cowans.
