Charles Russo Chosen As Guest Of Honor For Life's WORC Gala

Port Jefferson resident gets high honors for serving the community.

Long Island activist and managing partner of Russo, Karl, Widmair & Cordano, Charles Russo, has been chosen as a guest of honor or the annual Life's WORC gala on Dec 5. at the Oheka Castle in Huntington, NY.

Russo, Port Jefferson resident, married his high school sweetheart of forty years, Carol and became parents of six children and grandparents of two. Although Russo had a huge family to take care of, he always found time to help the community. Russo began working with Life’s WORC to help local residents dealing with disabilities. 

Life’s WORC said its mission statement is to provide services that facilitate and independent and productive life experience for individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. The non-profit organization, based out of Garden City, has taken care of over 1400 people with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, and autism.

Russo was chosen as a guest of honor, due to his long time service in the community. He is the co-founder and chairman of the board of the Hope House, the chairman of the board for Christmas Magic Project for the homeless, gives free legal services to the Hope Ministries House, and is the Village Justice in the Village of Belle Terre.

In a statement, Donald Barrick, board chairman for Life’s WORC said “I am thrilled Charles Russo is focusing his energy on our agency by being our guest of honor on December 5th," said Barrick.  "Charlie has a vast following for all of his positive efforts spanning many years.  Charlie will bring new momentum to our annual celebration, helping to put our fundraising over the top.”
