Event Spotlight: Mount Sinai Garden Club Meetings to Begin

The Mount Sinai Garden Club will begin meeting for the season on March 19.

In between the frigid winter weather this March have been hints of spring, and to kick off the upcoming season, the Mount Sinai Garden club has announced its meeting schedule for 2013.

The meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of each month starting March 19 and continuing until October. The club invites all area residents to join or attend meetings and participate in garden activities in the Mt Sinai, Miller Place, Rocky Point, Coram, Port Jeff Station and other local areas .

The first meeting will take place at 7:15 p.m. at the Heritage Center at Heritage Park in Mt. Sinai. It will feature a guest speaker from Bayport Flower House speaking about winter and Hurricane damage to trees and shrubs. Specific focus will be the browning and damage to local evergreen trees.
