For the Foodie, Port Jeff is the Place This Week

Starting with Taste of Port Jefferson, a week of food centric events kicks off.

It may just be a coincidence but this week in Port Jefferson, foodies will be able to enjoy a host of flavors offered by locals restaurants in three seperate events, the first kicking off on Saturday at noon with the at the .

A Taste of Port Jefferson

A Taste of Port Jefferson will feature a variety of food, wines and beers offered up by many local restaurants including , , , , , , , , and more.

will be there for the second year . Last year the Philbricks were there to introduce their newest venture to the community and were . Last Saturday, that dream came true with a . For those keeping score: The Philbricks are up one brewery and one baby boy since the last time they poured beer at A Taste of Port Jefferson.

Tickets for A Taste of Port Jefferson are $40 at the door. The event goes from noon until 4 p.m.

Food Day

On Monday, Mather Hospital’s perfect plates restaurant program will feature a day of "tasty and irresistible meatless entrees" at participating local resturants for only $5 each to help promote better health.

"In recognition of Food Day, these perfect plates emphasize delicious grains, fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits," said in a statement about the event.

The $5 price does not include beverage, tax or gratuity.

2nd Annual Restaurant Week

All week between Sunday, Oct. 23  and Saturday, Oct. 29 the village of Port Jefferson and the Economic Development Council will be celebrating its 2nd Annual Restaurant Week. During the week, participating restaurant will offer something a special of some type so call for details.
