Get Out: Plan Your Fourth of July

This is the big one. The Fourth of July parade in Port Jefferson will start near and end on West Broadway across from . Expect lots of fire trucks as 15 local fire departments will be taking part. After the parade around noon the newly electedvillage  trustees will be sworn in. The parade will go from 10 a.m. until about 11:30 a.m. if all goes well.

Yes, people there will be fireworks this year but expect changes. First parking to view the show will be limited. The fireworks will be shot from , which means that people can park in the lot to see the show but they can't go onto the beach for safety reasons. Parking and the beach will be open at . Both will be open only to resident parking. Fireworks will start after dark, according to the village.

is hosting an all you can eat special to celebrate Independence Day for $39.99. They will not be accepting reservations, service will be on a first come first serve basis. Service will be from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. so you can go after the parade but before the fireworks.
