Where/When: At on Saturday, March 18-20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: If your family loves cats and wants to adopt, head down to Save-A-Pet this weekend for their "Luck Black Cats" event with free adoptions of nine lucky black cats and $50 cat spays and neuters at  C.L.I.F.F.S. Clinic (price also includes a rabies and distemper vaccine).

Pricing: Free adoption for nine lucky black cats, $50 spays and neuters.

Where/When: , Sunday, March 20, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Kids 8 to 12 years old can head down to the library to to learn the basics of crotchet. Bring a hook, size G or H and worsted weight yarn. Registration is required.

Pricing: Free.

BASEBALL CARDS & COMICS

Where/When: , Friday noon - 7 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sunday, noon - 4 p.m.

Why Go: The American traditions of baseball card collecting and comic book reading are alive and well at Never Enough Cards in Port Jefferson Station. Head down to pick up cards, comics, legos and toys.

Where/When: Come down to the Children’s Maritime Museum in the Port Jefferson Village Center every weekend to explore some great interactive play stations that teach kids about the natural world around them.

Why Go: It’s a place for families to explore Long Island's maritime heritage and take a voyage of discovery.

Pricing: $5 per child. (Parents are free.)
