Have a Dickens of a Time at This Year's Crystal Ball

Annual dance kicking off the Dickens Festival at Port Jefferson Village Center will honor Fred Hall.

It felt downright Dickensian around here with storms, darkened homes from powerless nights and people lining up for hours for a fill of petrol in their horseless carriages.

Just in time to bring some Christmas spirit to your dampened soul is the 17th Annual Charles Dickens Fesitval in Port Jefferson village and kicking off the festivities is the annual Crystal Ball.

This year's fête will feature music by "Soul Be It," light refreshments, cash bar and good cheer. The honoree this year is Fred Hall, general manager of the Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry Steamboat Company.
