Jefferson's Ferry Donates Holiday Bonuses To American Red Cross

More than 200 employees pooled together their bonuses and tips to help donate $10,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts in the Philippines.

Maria Espinosa and her Filipino co-workers at Jefferson’s Ferry, joined by a majority of the 200 employees at the lifecare retirement community, requested that their holiday bonuses  and tips be given to the American Red Cross for its relief efforts in the Philippines, where many of their family and friends have been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.

The typhoon struck the Philippines a month ago killing nearly 6,000 and today, 12 million are still without shelter, food or water.  Jefferson's Ferry co-workers said those dealing with the aftermath of the Typhoon needed the money more then that did.

The employees weren't the only ones in on the act. Members of the Board of Directors and other executive personnel made contributions as well. All together, Jefferson Ferry made a $10,000 contribution that was presented to the American Red Cross during the staff’s holiday party.
