Updated: LIRR From Huntington to Port Jeff Still Suspended

No service east of Huntington.

The Long Island Rail Road reported at 4:15 p.m. on Monday that service east of Huntington on the Port Jefferson branch is still suspended because of effects from Hurricane Irene.

Service west to Huntington from Port Jefferson has been restored.

"Customers are advised to expect some cancellations and some trains operating with fewer than their normal complement of cars," the LIRR announced on its website.

Patch will update the status of the Port Jefferson line on the LIRR as more information becomes available.
