"We are hopeful she will get hungry and head home," read a Facebook post by Last Chance Animal Rescue. "I am encouraged she hasn't left the immediate area. We have a number of people who will be looking for her in the wooded area where she was seen."

There's some speculation that she is hiding in the woods near the area or even made her way to Lawrence Aviation, where some people have said that a dog of her type might be found trying to hunt.

"Check Lawerence Aviators," wrote Festa who got the advice from a friend in Port Jefferson. "These dogs are hunters and there are a lot of deer and animals running around there. A dog that is similar to Perrin in Port Jefferson always gets out of his house and is found in or near Lawerence Aviators."

The flyer says that Perrin will not approach strangers but may be able to be coaxed with food. Anyone who has seen Perrin can contact Judy at (631) 928-1821 or email jude66@comcast.net.
