It Has Been Almost A Month Since Port Jeff Dog Disappeared

A beloved Port Jefferson dog remains missing as the end of December approaches.

On Nov. 26, a family took to Facebook to ask residents to keep a look out for their missing dog, Marcy. She was recently adopted from Last Chance Animal Rescue. Shortly after her adoption, she was in the back yard and jumped the fence, taking off near William Street in Port Jefferson.

Marcy is wearing a purple hoodie and a pink collar with her owner’s information on a dog tag. She is currently wearing their old dog's tag, which has the name Sandy on it.

Rescuers have been able to surround locations where she has been spotted and have set traps in hopes of rescuing her.

*Latest Update: Dec. 12 from the "Help Bring Marcy Home' Facebook group: We have all been praying for a Christmas Miracle but sadly our sweet girl is still at large, last seen in Port Jefferson, NY. After searching in the area she was spotted we have not had a sighting for 12 days. A kind soul has left their garage available so she can get out of the cold and there has been traps set and monitored since her last sighting. At this time we ask you to please continue to share her photo and print off flyers to post if you are in the area. Let's keep getting her photo out there. When last seen she was not applying pressure to her back leg and she is thinner than in this photo. Let's get her seen and safely home. Thank you for your help and support. Updates are available at Help Bring Marcy Home.
