Massive Jehovah's Witness Auditorium Under Construction

A crew of all volunteers is building the 10,000-square-foot structure.

A crew of all volunteers began work on a 10,000-square-foot auditorium for a local Jehovah's Witness congregation.

Work on the "Double Kingdom Hall" began on Friday at 31640 Calle Girasol and is expected to finish on July 8, according to Scott Zeida, a spokesperson for the congregation.

The auditorium aims to give the 2,000 local Jehovah's Witnesses a place to worship. Seven congregations -- four English speaking and three Spanish speaking -- will use the building at various times, Zeida said.

More than 1,000 people volunteered their labor to build the building, the spokesman said. "All Kingdom Halls are constructed by volunteer work," he wrote in an emailed announcement. "Many are skilled tradesmen who give of their time, energy and resources. However, the majority are unskilled volunteers who receive on-site training in the trades associated with this project."
When the site is finished, church leaders will invite the community to tour the facility, Zeida said.

TVOR... Are you a bond servant of Christ? If so, nothing said to point out truth should offend you. God uses any forum or platform.

Uhm...HELLO! These people are volunteering. Slavery has been abolished and NOBODY is forcing these witnesses to come together freely and work... they WANT to. I think people are jealous of Jehovah's Witnesses because no other religion has been able to unify its membership. Try uniting all catholic congregations to pitch in all their money, volunteer their time, and build something to advance their faith... ALL OVER THE ENRIRE WORLD! ...yeah, RIGHT, that's what I thought. Same goes for Mormons, Protestants, Lutherans, Universalists, and Scientolgists. If Jehovah's Witnesses had solicited their funding from its membership under duress, you would call them gold-digging slave drivers. If Jehovah's Witnesses give up all their money, you would call them ignorant and blind in faith. It doesn't really matter WHAT they do with their money. It's THEIR friggin money! They can do whatever the hell hey want with it!!! I'd support them making plant mulch out of their paper money, if THAT'S what they REALLY want to do with it. Rhetorical Question: What upsets you more... the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses are all giving up their own money to help each other... or the fact that YOU'RE not getting any of it??? Leave them alone and go ask YOUR congregation membership for large sums of money. Let me know what they say.

@mandonfan, no, I am one ofthem heathen types but I have nothing against most religions. I don't care for the ones which teach people to do harm to others. BTW, the facilty was described in the title as "massive" . I have to disagree based on the size of many other local churches.

Most JWs were not born into this religion; we came from the churches of Christendom, and we wouldn't return for all the money in the world. No one is forced to become a Jehovah's Witness, and no one is forced to stay. For those ex-JWs who love to post hate on these boards, tell me: Who do you now pray to? A three-headed god? Do you now believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny? Do you now take blood transfusions, despite the fact that the bible says to 'abstain from blood'? Do you now commit fornication? Do you now smell bad from the filthy habit of cigarette smoking? Do you now go to bars and get drunk? Do you now kill your fellow man in war? Do you now have no friends? So tell me: What's it like to be FREE?
