The hamlet of Stony Brook beat out cities such as Berkeley, California, Boulder, Colorado, and East Lansing, Michigan, to come in as the No. 19 smartest city in the U.S. according to a slate of rankings released by Lumosity.com. Lumosity, a company that has developed online tools they claim can train your brain to be "smarter, sharper, and brighter," based its rankings on the geographical location of the IP addresses of more than two million people in the U.S. who took their tests.

From Miller Place-Rocky Point: Family 'Waiting Patiently, Hoping' for Return of Woman

A Miller Place woman has been missing since Wednesday afternoon, and family say she could be in the area – though since Patricia Woods has not lived on Long Island for over 30 years, the family is grasping for straws wondering where she is.

The 53-year-old was last seen Wednesday afternoon by her mother, Lil Kos, when Woods told her she was going to Rite Aid to pick up a prescription. She never made it there, and Kos called police right away.
