For the past four years, Joe Feminella has acted as a team captain of the Stony Brook University football team.

According to the YouTube video above, Feminella, 14, is a nine-year survivor of brain cancer, a disease he was diagnosed with at the age of 5. He's at every game, has jerseys and other Seawolves gear, rushes the field before each game and has even has traveled with the team.

In the weeks following her mother's death, resulting from a hit-and-run accident on Canal Road in Mt. Sinai, Lindsay Benjamin has taken to the Internet to ensure the man reportedly involved in the crash stays put in jail, and future offenders receive stricter penalties for leaving the scene of fatal crashes.

Launching a petition on Change.org on Tuesday, Benjamin is aiming toward end goal of 10,000 – though the signatures are just a start.

Cactus Salons are preparing to welcome new customers seeking their favorite stylists formerly at a Smithtown spalon. 

Karen Vito, marketing director for Cactus Salon & Day Spas, said roughly 20 staff members of the former T. Carlton's Spalon in Smithtown have become Cactus Salon employees and that number is growing daily.
