PHOTOS: Some Damage, Flooding as Water Recedes at Cedar Beach

Some damage to Brookhaven Town docks.

The water came up on Cedar Beach and Brookhaven Town docks had some damage on Sunday after Hurricane Irene passed through the region with B-dock looking like it was twisted during the storm.

People came out to inspect their boats and take a look at the damage. Lines of cars made their way through flooded roads by the late afternoon.

Remnants of the high tide were clearly visible at the homes along the beach. Ponds were deep enough to submerge boats on trailers.

Mike and Heather Esnes came down to survey the harbor on Sunday and check out their boat. The Esneses usually keep their boat on a mooring but for the storm they had Ralph's Marina haul it out.

Others came out to play, look for shells and a few dirt bike riders were seen around the beach. The sun peeked out briefly but the winds continued to blow.
