Plungers dipped into the frigid waters of the Long Island Sound to benefit Special Olympics.

They say they are freezin' for reason at Cedar Beach when the Polar Plungers take to the frigid waters of the Long Island Sound to raise money for Special Olympics. On Saturday, after being rescheduled from its original November date due to super storm Sandy, the event finally took place under sunny skies with water temperatures reportedly at 52 degrees.
