PHOTOS: Teams Compete in a Quick And Dirty Boat Build

Teams competed in building and racing boats they built at Port Jefferson's Harborfront Park.

On Saturday and Sunday teams showed up for at the in .

Team members had four hours to assemble their boats and on Sunday they met again to paint them. Then they put them into Port Jefferson Harbor for what LISEC member Kathy O'Sullivan described as a "zany race."

"It tests the design and seaworthiness of the vessels along a 100 meter course," she said.
