Port Jefferson Historical Archive Hits 3,500 Online Images

Another milestone for village website that seeks to digitize history.

In an email to Patch, Port Jefferson village historian said that the online archive of historical images has hit a new milestone.

"I am pleased to report that there are now 3,500 images in the Village History section of portjeff.com," Ken Brady said.

Among the images available are pictures from photographer Arthur S. Greene who documented local life around the turn of the 20th century, old businesses come and gone, political figures and a variety of documents, including Port Jefferson's own bank-issued money.

many of the 3,500 are ready to see and purchase. The money goes to keep up the work of the archive.
