Port Jefferson Weekend Guide: Cruise on the Schooner "SoundWaters"

What: The schooner SoundWaters will return to Port Jefferson Harbor on Aug. 9, docking at the pier in for educational tours of the Long Island Sound at 2 p.m. on Friday and Sunday and evening sunset cruises at 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

Why Go: Homegrown Music Café is a monthly concert series featuring Long Island and Regional singer songwriters and bands. It is considered one of the finest, intimate venues in Suffolk County. All net proceeds go to the St. Gerard Majella parish outreach program, which feeds and clothes hundreds of Long Islanders.
