Autumn Wine Tasting with Vidalco Wine

Where/When: Mar-Kays Wine & Liquor, Friday at 3 p.m.

Witchcraft on Long Island

Where/When: Port Jefferson Free Library, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.

What: The most famous American witch hunt began in 1692 in Salem, MA. More than three decades before that notorious event, Long Island had its very own witchcraft trial – the trial of Goody Garlick! Accusations of flying on poles and cavorting with the Devil ran rampant in the colonies during the 17th century. To understand what happened during these trials, we must first understand the stresses of ordinary 17th century life and why the fear of witches existed.

Pancake Breakfast and Pictures With Santa

Where/When: Applebee's, Saturday at 8 a.m.

What: The Ladies Auxiliary of the Mt. Sinai Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their 2nd Annual Fundraising Pancake Breakfast at Applebee's in Miller Place. Tickets are available at the door and are $10.00 which includes 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 sausage with refillable coffee, tea and juice. Santa Claus will be available for pictures for an additional $5 donation for up to 4 pictures with Santa and his Elves. Feel free to bring your own camera as well.

Holiday Bazaar

Where/When: 233 N Country Rd, Mount Sinai, Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

What: Boutique vendors, crafts, bakery, clothing boutique, snowflake auction, book sale, barn sale, raffles, refreshments and more. If you'd like to be a vendor, or volunteer, please email Chrissy at mscc1@optonline.net or call the church office at 473-1582.

USCG Auxiliary Boating Safely Course

Where/When: Port Jefferson Village Hall, Saturday at 9 a.m.

What: Recently enacted Suffolk County Law requires all boaters operating a pleasure vessel in Suffolk County Waterways to complete an approved boating safety course and possess and display their safety course certificate while boating. This course covers the basics of recreational boating. Topics include Boat education, Boating Safety, Boating Law and Regulation. Individuals who successfully complete the course and exam are awarded a NYS certificate.

Free CPR Class

Where/When: Port jefferson Ambulance, 25 Crystal Brook Hollow Rd, Port Jefferson, Saturday at 10 a.m.

5th Annual Go Green Fair

Where/When: Port Jefferson Village Center, Saturday from Noon - 4 p.m.

What: Come join in the fun from Noon to 4 p.m. and see why "Youth is Building a Greener Future." With Co-Sponsors the Port Jefferson Go Green and the Humanities Institute at Stony Brook University joining with the Port Jefferson Library and the Port Jefferson School District, there will be an afternoon of great exhibits. And of course don't forget what has become everyone's favorite, the Green Elephant Table. These wonderful items are all for free and are either new or very gently used.

Science For Kids

Where/When: Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.

What:  Wanted: FBI Agents for making and analyzing fingerprints! Use materials to practice your skills in Forensic Science, and make all kinds of "prints" that are only yours! Also, come and check out the Nano Spots and the new Smartboard! Find out how nanotechnology makes a difference in communications, building materials, electrical storage, nature and more.

Complimentary Wine Tasting and Cheese Pairing

Where/When: Vine 2 Wine, Saturday at 3 - 6 p.m.

What: Stop in to Vine 2 Wine for a complimentary wine tasting featuring the Wilson Daniels line. They be tasting Wilson Daniels Central Coast Pinot Noir 2010 as well as Wilson Daniels Sauvignon Blanc Central Coast 2010.
