Town of Brookhaven Polar Plunge
Where/When: Cedar Beach, Saturday at 10 a.m.

What: Last year over 500 Plungers braved the icy waters while spectators giggled with excitement. These brave souls are your neighbors, friends and of course Special Olympics athletes helping to raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics New by plunging into the chilly waters of the Long Island Sound.
Barnaby Saves Christmas
Where/When: Theatre Three, Saturday at 11 a.m.
What: From the Theatre Three website: Come join Santa, Barnaby, Franklynne and all of their friends for a wonderful holiday treat. As our littlest elf and his reindeer friend set off on their journey to save Christmas, they meet some new friends along the way and learn the true meaning of Christmas, Hanukah, and the holiday season.
Complimentary Wine Tasting & Cheese Pairing
Where/When: Vine 2 Wine, Saturday at 3 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m.
What: Vine 2 Wine will host a complimentary wine tasting of Chateau de la Negly “L'ancely” Coteaux du Languedoc 2007 as well as Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2011.

Celebrate Light with the Maritime Explorium
Where/When: Maritime Explorium, Saturday and Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
What: Explore patterns while creating a luminary to light your path.
Wooden Boat Building
Where/When: Long Island Seaport and Eco Center, Sunday at 9 a.m.
What: Come down to the Bayles Boat Shop in Harborfront Park to see wooden boats being built. Volunteers welcome to sign up to learn the craft of wooden boat building.
Adoption Day at Petsmart Port Jefferson Station
Where/When: PetSmart, Sunday at 11 a.m.
What: Come by meet the dogs, say hello and learn more about Last Chance Animal Rescue.
