Public Libraries Close Early Due To Inclement Weather

Branches all over the area have closed early due to pending storm.

The Comsewogue Public Library has closed early today at 4 p.m. in preparation for the winter storm predicting to hit Long Island this evening. 

The library will not be hosting any events today and all will be rescheduled to a later date. If you do have overdue books and decide to go out in the storm, the library does have a collection box outside that will allow you to drop off any borrowed materials. 

The Port Jefferson Free Library announced on their website that they too will be closing early at 4 p.m. and have already warned residents to expect a delayed opening tomorrow morning. 

The North Shore Public Library located in Shoreham made a statement on their website: "Dear Library Patrons: Due to the weather conditions and for the safety of our patrons, the library will be closing at 5 p.m. today (January 2, 2014)and the library will be closed tomorrow (January 3, 2014).
