A fundraiser on Valentine's Day for Save-a-Pet Animal Rescue raised about $15,000, according to a report published in Newsday.

The event, held at Flowerfield in St. James, was attended by about 200 people. According to Newsday, the Fur Ball, now in its 12th year, is Save-a-Pet's largest fundraiser of the year.
