Spaghetti Dinner Given In Honor of Ira Margulies

Have a delicious dinner to support a family that is in desperate need for help as their provider, Ira Margulies, battles Stage 4 Liver Cancer.

Ira Margulies has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Liver Cancer and is currently unable to work and support his family. For years, Margulies has done everything he could to help out the town. He was an Advanced Life Support Provider with the Middle Island Fire Department, a Rocky Point Fire Department and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corporation, and even a New York city retired corrections officer.

Margulies has dedicated his career to saving others and not is in a time of need. "He is fighting for his life and we are fighting along with him," said friends of Margulies in a flyer. "He is determined to do everything he can to battle the odds and this disease."

Margulies took a strong stance against the cancer and began aggressive treatments which has severely impacted not only his way of life, but wife, young children, and financial situation. Together with various departments on Long Island, including the fire and emergency medical services, the hope is to raise money to help fund everything from medical bulls to basic household items for Margulies family.

The event is being held on Jan. 25 at the Middle Island Fire Department, located at 31 Arnold Drive. There will be raffles and auctions in addition to the spaghetti dinner. All attendees are asked to pay $10 at the door for the dinner.
