The Week Ahead: Budget Hearings, Warrior Run & More

Here's a rundown of some interesting and important upcoming events in the Port Jefferson area.

1. The Comsewogue School District will hold a budget hearing on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Board of Education meeting room.

2. Also on Monday, an expert from Merchant Services will hold a seminar for small business owners about how to decrease expenses and other business tips. The event will take place at the Port Jefferson Free Library at 7 p.m. 

3. The Port Jefferson School District will hold a budget hearing at 7 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the high school auditorium.

4. Saturday will be the "Great Brookhaven Clean Up" in which residents can pitch in to help beautify the town. Sign up by visiting www.brookhaven.org or calling 451-TOWN.

5. Sunday will be the 5K Warrior Run, starting at Comsewogue High School.  Registration is from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., in the high school gymnasium; participation fees are $20 for the 5K run, $5 for the fun run, and $40 per family (must reside at same address).
