This Day in History: A Moving Picture Feature at Athena Hall

When Theatre Three was known as Athena Hall, it featured many live productions and new forms of entertainment, like "picture shows."

in Port Jefferson is hosting a special picture show that includes a viewing of A Way to the Underworld starring Mary Fuller, the ninth episode of What Happened to Mary, along with 6 other "good pictures" reads an advertisement for the shows dated Saturday, May 24.

Of course you'll have to travel back to 1913 in order to see it.

According to the Port Jefferson village historian Ken Brady, Athena Hall is now known as Theatre Three. You can view an archival photo of Athena Hall and Platt’s Harness Shop on the west side of Main Street in Port Jefferson on the village's website in the historical section here.
