Weird News of Week: The Case of the Naked Trespasser

A Sag Harbor man had a rude awakening last week when first thing in the morning he found a naked man walking in the hallway and ducking into a bedroom. Rather then make an introduction, the man grabbed his wife, ran out of the house and called the police, who later found the naked man sleeping in a first floor bedroom. Police said the man had been highly intoxicated and let himself into the house, thinking it was a friend’s home. Later, the friend showed up to tell police that he'd been looking for his friend for hours. The couple decided not to press charges in exchange for $100 cash to pay for cleaning the bedroom.

A rare Calico lobster discovered in a shipment of seafood to Stuart's Fish Market in Amagansett didn't survive, owners said, despite attempts to keep it fed in a tank and hopefully adopted by the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead. Calico's occur in nature one out of 30 million times, and are marked by having black and orange spots.

A Mount Sinai home was hit by a car this week for the second time in a year, in almost the exact same place it was hit before. Luckily nobody was hurt in the home when a red Suzuki spun into the home after colliding with another car on 25A.

The owners weren't so lucky in February, when a van driven by a 56-year old man from Rocky Point That crash send the two residents and the driver of the car to the hospital.
