I think this is Arden Place looking toward Main Street. Please let me know because my husband thinks I am wrong. He says there is water by the fence on the bottom left, so it is down by the harbor.

The photo is of West Tuthill Street, now called Maple Place, looking east to Main Street. The house on the far left is on the corner of South Street and is a law office today. Most of the homes on the north and south sides of Maple Place were removed from the 50's and on. In the 70's, the Village purchased property to provide for an access to Meadow parking lot which is a main entrance today.

Hi Sandra, remember me. We go back a long time. You hired me for the Reader newspaper when it came to town. Odds are you are probably right. Your knowledge of Port Jeff. sounds right on. Best wishes.

Today, next to the law office on the corner is Dr. Rutters dentist office, which is the corner of Liberty Ave. before it goes past the High school and turns to Old Post Rd.. When I was a small boy there was a small grocery store on the opposite side of the road from the dentist. I believe the house that "Joecy" (only new her by her first name when I worked at ABI in the mid 80's, she was the accountant) lived in is the house that they moved across from the Village Hall, now being used by the village historical society. The lower right hand corner where there looks to be a shed is where the Lodge is today. Orrrrr Not??????????? I see it that way :)
