Art: Port Jeff Harbor Painted by Early 20th Century Landscape Artist

Norwegian-born painter was famous for his landscapes of the New England shoreline.

Jonas Lie was a Norwegian-born painter known for depicting the coastlines of New England who lived from 1880 until 1940. One of his paintings depicts Port Jefferson Harbor.

There is no date but it is clearly sometime in the early 20th century, showing wooden sailboats coming into a sparsely populated harbor. The painting is on the Questroyal Fine Art website.
