Artist Says Work is Part of an Ongoing Photography Project

Tim Needles explains what his art is all about.

Last week, Patch by Tim Needles and asked readers what they thought of it in a series called First Impressions.

The Artist's Turn

Tim Needles, said he took the stip of images for a year-long photograph and art diary project that he's been posting up daily on Instagram and which will later be featured in a gallery show and book.

Here's what he said:

This is the second such photo diary I've done, the first being 2008 which culminated in a show at on East Main Street and which is viewable on my website.

They are specifically taken from week 13 which featured some images of Port Jefferson such as the ferry and the Easter Parade as well as the Hampton's and New York City as I was commuting back and forth working as a film critic and journalist. It's always a memorable week because I'm on vacation from my primary job as an art teacher at Smithtown High School East and spring is in full swing with the cherry blossoms in bloom as you can see in the second image from Water Mill.
