Event Spotlight: Sundance Award Winner Showing at Port Jefferson Documentary Film Festival

Director Kirby Dick will be guest speaker at Theatre Three.

The Port Jefferson Documentary Film Series continues Monday night at Theatre Three with the showing of "The Invisible War," a 2012 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award winning movie.

According to a statement released by the filmmakers, "The Invisible War" is "a moving exposé of the existence of military sex crimes, chronicling the military women’s struggles to rebuild their lives and fight for justice."

The movie starts at 7 p.m. The film's director Kirby Dick will be the guest speaker at the viewing on Monday night in Port Jefferson village.

"The Invisible War" also won the U.S. Documentary Nestor Award for Courage in Film Making at the 2012 Human Rights Watch Film Festival and the Silver Heart Award at the Dallas International Film Festival.
