I just don't understand why we have to start making new buildings look so "ultra-modern" and expect them to fit in with our century old "charming" small town look. If I had an architect design an extension like this on my home I doubt if it would pass inspection and it would also stand out like a sore thumb. I am also remembering some of the ideas for the restoration house on West Broadway. Thank goodness that was scrapped!

WHY?...Why bother to save an historic, beautiful building like this only to turn it into THAT?....How does a building with that design fit with the architecture of the village? Do what you will on the interior, but leave the exterior alone...

How sad for our Main street and what is a lovely historic building. I can't imagine many residents could be pleased with the design. I used to think we had some of the nicest examples of Victorian/Queen Anne architecture anywhere, but this is an eyesore.
