A Pancake That Smiles Back

Create-A-Face Pancake from IHOP is a fun breakfast for the kids.

Who doesn't have a childhood memory of eating pancakes at the as it's known? Early memories of IHOP must include the battery of syrups in all different sugary flavors like boysenberry and strawberry that few ever see at the same time at one breakfast table. It's a kid breakfast bonanza. Here we highlight the pancake that not only makes you smile but it smiles back.

The Dish: Create-A-Face Pancake ($5.29)

What's Inside: A big pancake with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream and strawberry flavored Yoplait brand Go-gurt (yogurt that kids squeeze out of a plastic tube).

How's It Taste: We could tell you but here are a few words from someone who knows. "It tastes good," said our four-year old taste tester. "I liked how I made the forehead out of the Go-gurt."

The IHOP pancake is a classic tasting flapjack, bready and thick. Add the fruit, yogurt and whipped cream and you hardly need any syrup – but try telling that to a four-year old little girl where sweet is the name of the game. Every flavor of syrup from strawberry to old fashioned was poured on top of this treat.

Sides: Hot Chocolate ($1.59) goes great with the big pancake, which also comes with whipped cream and chocolate chips. Yeah, it's good to be a kid.
