Civic Association Pushes For Color Change on New Auto Zone

Brookhaven Town Planning Board approved the change to a more muted color than originally planned that the civic association wanted.

The Town of Brookhaven approved a color change to the Auto Zone being built on Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station. According to a representative with the Planning Board the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Civic Association wanted the color of the building to be more “muted color,” calling it a “minor color change.” The Brookhaven Town Planning Board agenda listed the item as an “architectural modification, color change.”

Originally the color of the structure was to be a bright orange, but it was changed to what was described as a terracotta color by the representative. The logo and outside of many Auto Zone stores are orange and red in color.
