Beverly Frills Departs Port Jefferson, Takes Up Shop in Stony Brook

Business was established five years ago on East Main Street.

Beverly Frills, the Port Jefferson boutique known for its party dresses and accessories especially for 'tweens, has packed up shop and moved to Stony Brook.

The space on Port Jefferson's East Main Street, where Beverly Frills was located for five years until this past December, saw one major flaw, according to owner Angela Janetakis.

"The parking was a nightmare there," she said.

At the same time, Janetakis decided to expand her business to sophisticated women's wear and move away from 'tween casual wear. While her original store was done up in a pink-and-white palette – a look that she described as "a little girl's fancy closet" – she said she saw the need for a space that would be fitting for both women's wear and dressy 'tween attire.

She landed at The Studio at 1113 North Country Road in Stony Brook, a space she shares with neighboring children's boutique Eloise & Oliver and the Christina Bohn photography studio, which is occasionally home to a pop-up shop for trendy home accessories as well.

The former Beverly Frills space was between 800 and 900 square feet. Janetakis's space at The Studio is much smaller, but that's OK with her.

"I like the idea that the space is small, so that the clothes are constantly changing. It has almost a Parisian feel," she said. "It's cozy. It's easy."
