Connecticut officials are warming up to the idea of a $30 million relocation of the Bridgeport ferry dock to the East End of the city, according to an article on CTPost.com.
The article states that the new proposal is growing on leaders largely because of its economic revitalization impact, to an area the publication called "one of the city's most distressed" neighborhoods.
An official from the mayor's office said that the proposal would bring jobs from Long Island to Connecticut, though Fred Hall, general manager of Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry Company, said details have yet to be figured out.
"Our plans are still evolving," Hall told Port Jefferson Patch. "We have numerous scenarios to consider so speculation as to what positions or the likelihood of certain positions being moved elsewhere are not appropriate at this time."
