Hungry holiday shoppers have a new dining option to choose from at Smith Haven Mall. P.F. Chang's opened its doors to serve up its fresh twist on Asian fare at the Lake Grove Mall on Nov. 26. The bistro-style restaurant is hoping to attract interest from the crushing waves of holiday shoppers.

Town Board Approves Zoning Change To Allow For Chick-fil-A

The Town of Brookhaven voted unanimously to approve a zoning change that would allow developers to build a Chick-fil-A fast food restaurant at the former car dealership on Route 347 near Terryville Road. The developers first went to the Port Jefferson Station-Terryville Civic Association to inform the community of their projected plans. Director and Restaurant Developer for Chick-fil-A, Scott Thigpen, told residents the plans are to build a quality establishment that will offer meals with the best chicken in town.

Miss Michelle’s Urban Gourmet, Bayport’s three-year-old gluten free organic bakery, is looking to expand and is using a well-known online crowdsourcing site to gain funding.

King Kullen SVP: Patchogue Store Is Closing

The Patchogue location of King Kullen, at 499 N. Service Rd. in the Gateway Plaza Shopping Center, will be closing in 2014. Joseph Brown, senior vice president of the grocery chain, told Patch Friday that the location is closing "sometime after the first of the year."

Possible Futures for MacArthur Airport Shown At Open House

Several possible plans for the expansion of Long Island MacArthur airport were on display Wednesday at an open house event held at the airport's location in Ronkonkoma. Options drawn up by the Landrum and Brown engineering firm were posted in the airport’s lobby for residents to look at and leave comments on. Airport commissioner Robert Schaefer told Patch that while these options are under consideration, none of them are currently going forward.
