Do You Want Hess to Build on the Old Texaco Site in Port Jeff Station?

Hess has planned to build a new gas station on vacant site in Port Jefferson Station for years.

On Oct. 17, residents of Port Jefferson Station about the Hess gas station proposed to be build on Route 112 and Washington Avenue where a Texaco used to stand. Many residents want Hess to build, as the property is becoming just another vacant eyesore on the corridor. Next door, as well.

Hess is ready to build but they require some variances. The planning board has also expressed some concerns about the design of the gas station and the flow of traffic throught the area. ( about the proposed Hess station.)

Blight in suburbia is becoming more of an issue as the economy faulters. Businesses close with no one to step up to take their place and properties remain vacant for years. Many residents want Hess to come in an occupy the vacant lot.
