Complimentary Wine Tasting & Cheese Pairing

Our tasting on Saturday, February 25, will feature a Hardin Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 and a Stella di Campalto Brunello di Montalcino 2005.  The Hardin Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of declassified juice from Larkmead Winery.  This wine is opaque with classic aromas of black fruits, tobacco, and cedar.  On the palate it is rich and balanced by beautiful, ripe tannins, and nice acidity with a core of blackberry, cherry, and cassis fruits, tobacco, and a hint of very well integrated oak.  The Brunello is a bright, moderately saturated red.  Flamboyant aromas of red cherry reduction, cassis, sandalwood, sweet spices and rose petal.  Amazingly velvety on entry, with the rich, dense flavors of superripe cherry, sweet licorice, and truffle giving an almost unctuous mouth feel with a long and creamy-smooth finish.  We will be pairing our wines with cheese from C'est Cheese on Main Street in Port Jefferson Village! Cheers!
