Grilled Flatbread is a Southwestern Kick in the Gut

Eldorado's Southwest Chicken Flatbread delivers a big burst of flavor for lunch.

is a southwestern grill that takes itself very seriously. I mean, there are iron spouts in the booths that double as little lamps. There’s a map of Texas on the wall made from old license plates. And there are enough wide screen televisions all over the joint to satisfy even the most demanding sports nut. They serve up southwestern grub the likes of which haven’t been seen east of Nichols Road since Big Barry shot his last six-gun in Rocky Point.

The Dish: Southwest Chicken Flatbread ($7.99)

What’s Inside: Blackened chicken, lettuce, tomato, back bean and corn salsa with crispy onions and southwest dressing on a grilled flatbread.

How’s It Taste: A seasoned burst of flavor with every bite. This is no gourmet meal and it’s not for the picker. The big chunks of blackened chicken are piled on top of a bed of ingredients that just begs to be all mixed together. Once you mix it up you’ll want to take big heaping bites with every forkful.

It’s a belly buster for sure but if you love the southwestern theme of flavors in your meal you’ll be more than satisfied. And there is no doubt that this is a well seasoned dish. The flatbread is sort of like a grilled pita, which makes this almost like a southwestern souvlaki sandwich. Almost.

Sides: Of course you’re getting their seasoned fries. That’s a given. Of course you’re also getting a plate of salsa and chips as an appetizer. What’s not required is a big glass of soda, which, of course, you’re going to want anyway. Oh Yeah. They have Betty Boop too.
