The walls of the new La Fitness in Port Jefferson are rapidly going up as the gym pushes for a late fall opening.
Bernard Sanchez, an employee at the LA Fitness preview center, said the goal is for the new building to be completed in November - if everything goes according to plan. Any unexpected building changes or delays could set back the opening of the Port Jefferson Station location.
The new LA Fitness will be roughly 45,000 square feet and span over 2 acres. The Port Jefferson Station will have state-of-the-art equipment, four racquetball courts, a swimming pool and will offer more than 40 classes, according to Sanchez.
LA Fitness has opened up a preview center in the Uncle Guiseppe's shopping center on Route 112. Residents can stop by the preview center to see proposed plans and pre-purchase memberships.
